SALEM FAMILY COMPOUND

Salem Family Compound

The former 32-acre Boy Scout camp – Camp Wakenah – in Salem, Connecticut, complete with hiking trails and lakefront beach, was purchased privately and transformed it into a year-round vacation home. The Adirondack-style main house is centered on a great room that’s adjoined by a huge commercial kitchen and dining area with a hearth still carved with the Boy Scouts’ motto. Attached to the main house is the massive post and beam aquatic room; the indoor poor is bordered by his and her spa/sauna rooms. Many features of this project were customized on the spot to accommodate the owner’s wishes.

The house was featured in a story in 'The Day' you can read it Here
