The existing cottage was torn down to make way for the stately 5,800 sq ft four bedroom summer home designed by Peter Springsteel, AIA.  The impressive front entry door of 2 ½ inch thick mahogany with custom sidelights opens in to the dramatic two-story foyer with sweeping staircase, which is richly detailed with first floor ceiling height wood trim detailing and a charming small window built into the curve. The luxurious master suite has dramatic cathedral ceilings and French doors and windows with arched transom window and opens out to a private balcony with Ipe decking spectacular River views. The master bath is outfitted with painted custom cabinetry, glassed shower, and beautiful tile work. The five custom-tiled baths all have Nu-Heat electric floor warming mats installed under the tile floors and feature programmable thermostats.  The home features, Geothermal closed loop heating and cooling, Marvin Ultimates impact resistant windows, Ipe decking, gas fireplace insert, custom kitchen and bath cabinetry, and heavy millwork throughout. Add a third floor office and work out room in the finished basement, and there’s no reason to ever leave! This home’s design and details evolved and changed almost daily to accommodate the owners’ vision of their perfect retreat.
